i think people forget that FAUX News was at one point barred from asking questions to Obama. Lies about Death Panels, cutting Medicare (all lies) and others were rampant!
Just before Obama left he did a long interview on 60 Minutes and Steve Kroft pressed him on the Red Line comment and they got so heated aides stepped in to take a break. When Obama returned he sat down…straightened his jacket, took a sip of water, looked at Steve Kroft and said :”ok, what else you got.”
Kroft said President Obama looked at every question as an intellectual challenge and Kroft could see clearly, he was enjoying it!
I think they just looked like soft ball questions because Obama was so good at it. They were many of the same kinds of questions we see now, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Iran.
Course Obama did not have a single major scandal so that is one topic that can be embarrassing even if its not the Presidents fault he still has to answer for it.
I think we get a sanitized vision of how Obama was treated, I don’t think badly or overly easy but fair based on how he tried to provide answers to the questions.
Trump has been evasive, dismissive, argumentative, so that means more follow up questions and follow ups on the follow ups. Because he hasn’t provided full answers. But that is not unfair or harsh, that is just the media trying to do their job.
But if Trump does more like he did yesterday I think you will see the media soften. I thought yesterday went very well for everyone including our President.
